Welcome to DRAVOSBURG

The Borough of Dravosburg is located adjacent to the Monongahela River, surrounded by the Borough of West Mifflin in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Dravosburg was incorporated in 1903 having been part of the former Mifflin Township. The economy of the borough was initially based on coal mining and the sale of the same, so the town was named after John F. Dravo, a very prominent local leader in the coal industry and was a boat manufacturer. A small post office was opened in what would later become Dravosburg in 1863, and John F. Dravo served as its first postmaster.

Since 1903, Dravosburg has remained a vibrant and tight-knit community with several familial generations continuing to raise families with its borders. Consisting of only one square mile, Dravosburg is home to many family-owned businesses including industrial equipment services, food service supply procuring and shipping, automotive and diesel repair shops, as well as some of the best restaurants and taverns worth a try.

With less than 2000 residents, Dravosburg proudly continues to support and maintain a 100% volunteer fire department, school crossing guards, American Legion Post 380, and the Masonic Lodge at the end of Duquesne Avenue. The borough and these community organizations are always available to lend a helping hand and sponsor events for the community young and old.

Thank you for visiting our website. Consider stopping for a visit in person one day, or even becoming our neighbor. Welcome to Dravosburg!

The Borough Offices are open Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with the exception of Holidays.
